Episcopal church welcomes you

Concert by Convivium Musicum this Sunday, Feb. 23rd

Sunday, February 23rd at 4 pm in the Parish Hall here at Christ Church. "Private Devotion" - Sacred music outside the church. This Boston-based Renaissance Choir is led by our tenor soloist, Michael Barrett, Conductor.  Tickets are available here or at the door.  Not all religious music of the Renaissance was written for public worship. Some works were intended for the home as a kind of devotional entertainment, especially in those parts of Europe where elaborate polyphony was forbidden in church. In other contexts, like that of the tumultuous religious climate of Tudor England, some Catholics managed to practice their faith, and sing their songs, away from public view. Convivium explores these fascinating repertoires and stories through the music of Byrd, Sweelinck, Lassus, and more.  A reception follows the concert.  Join us!
