Lenten Series - "Sing to the LORD a New Song: A study of the Psalms in Lent" Sundays in Lent - This Sunday, March 26 at 11:30 AM (Note change in time for this Sunday only)
Join us for five Sundays in Lent for our annual Lenten Study Series. This year we will be discussing the Psalms. How might this ancient hymn book of Israel be useful to us today, both in our worship and in our personal devotion and spiritual life and as we try to make sense of our lives and our world? We will be using the book Conversations with Scripture: The Psalms by biblical scholar and Episcopal Priest L. William Countryman. Purchase and reading of the book is neither required nor necessary, but for those who are interested it is readily available at many on-line book-sellers or can be ordered at the Andover Bookstore. Whether you are following along with the book or not, it will be helpful prior to each session to read the Psalms suggested for that evening's conversation. Click here for the schedule, topics to be discussed, and the suggested Psalms to be read.
Everyone is welcome to come as you are able -- no need to commit to all five weeks. With the exception of the first session (please note the alternate time and location for that first session), a light meal of soup and bread provided by volunteers will follow our discussion.
