Several nonprofits are collecting winter clothing and food for the many families and children who were affected by the hurricanes in the Caribbean and have been arriving in Lawrence from Puerto Rico, many without adequate winter clothes for our climate.
Coat Collection for Lazarus House - The Andover Thrift Shop is collecting coats for children, men and women and also hats, scarves, mittens and gloves for Lazarus House in Lawrence. Please bring any of these items to the Thrift Shop at 10 Park Street in Andover. Your generosity is appreciated.
Winter Clothing & Food Drive - Family Services is collecting winter clothing and food. They are accepting donations of gently worn winter clothing and shoes; coats, hats, and gloves; baby wipes; diapers for children and adults; hygiene products (razors, deodorant, soap, feminine products, shampoo, conditioner); canned food, rice, oil, Adobo, snacks, etc. Donations may be dropped off at General Donovan School, 145 Franklin St. in Lawrence Mondays-Fridays 8:30am-3:30pm.
