Children's Center

The Christ Church Children's Center was established in 1969 as a church-sponsored pre-school program. The Center provides a warm and supportive atmosphere where young children can learn about themselves, each other, and the outside world. Our programs seek to develop a child’s self-esteem, while preserving class unity through developmentally appropriate activities so that each individual may succeed. The staff fosters each child’s sense of personal responsibility and balances structured activities designed for fun and learning with free time to help children make choices and explore new possibilities. We emphasize a cooperative spirit by helping children resolve their own conflicts within safe limits and treat children with respect, understanding, and good humor. The program encourages good communication between school and home in order to be mutually supportive and promotes ongoing professional development for teachers. The Center does not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, national origin, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status of parents, or disability. Class schedules vary according to the child’s age and follow a school year calendar.
