Youth Ministries - Spiritual Formation for Teenagers

At Christ Church, the nurturing and formation of young people in the Christian faith is the duty and delight of the whole congregation.  Click to read a letter to Parents and Youth in 7th-12th grades from Rev. Jen Vath.

To register your Youth in Grades 7 through 12 for the 2019-20 school year, click to register online, or click for a printable form.  If you use the printable version, you can either mail it to Christ Church, 25 Central St., Andover, MA 01810, or you can scan and e-mail it to Mary Ann Lennon in the church office.  Click for the new 2019-2020 Children's Ministries brochure.

If you have any questions about our youth programs, please e-mail our curate, the Rev. Jen Vath.

Our 7th & 8th Grade Youth Group and our High School Youth Group (9th-12th graders) meetings are typically led by a team of three or four adult mentors.

An opportunity for Confirmation preparation is offered for young adults who are in at least the 10th grade.  If you are interested in confirmation for your teen, please contact the Rev. Jen Vath as soon as possible.  The next confirmation preparation for our young adults will be offered during the 2019-2020 program year (date and location for the Rite of Confirmation TBD) - the first class is Sunday, October 20th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall.

7th & 8th Grade Youth Group

This program strives to nurture the community of youth in 7th through 8th grades.  The group honors the importance of each individual member and the unique talents and gifts each brings while being part of a larger community. Topics for discussion include Christian identity, practices of prayer, spirituality, and our role as followers of Christ. The group strives to strike a balance between service work and fun outings and meets on select Sundays at 11:30 am in the Youth Room downstairs from the Parish Hall. Youth are invited to join the group at any time during the year.

High School Youth Group (9th - 12th grades)

Available to all High Schoolers, this program offers ways to explore the Christian tradition in greater depth, to experience the grace of Christian community and to serve in the Church and beyond its walls. The group is open to all high schoolers no matter where they may be on their spiritual journeys. Our High School Youth Group meets on select Sunday afternoons from 3:30-5:00 pm in the Glebe House, the yellow house with window boxes two doors to the right of the church at 25 Central Street.

Confirmation - 10th - 12 grades

Confirmation invites young people to claim for themselves the promises made on their behalf at baptism. Classes to prepare for Confirmation begin in September and meet on select Sunday evenings.  A Preconfirmation overnight retreat at the Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center is part of this program.

For more information about confirmation, go to our Confirmation Page.

Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center

The Barbara Harris Camp (or BCH), located in beautiful Greenfield, NH, is an Episcopal Camp and Conference Center owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.  Opened in 2003, this camp’s summer program has become very popular with Christ Church children and youth.  This program offers a tremendous week-long summer camp experience, in a Christian context, which is available to any child from 4th grade to 12th grade.  In addition, the camp is frequently used during the fall, winter, and spring for diocesan youth retreats, parish vestry retreats, and a variety of other purposes.  To learn more about the BCH Camp, please visit the BCH website
